We were ecstatic when invited to attend a special preview of the new Honda Jazz at the Buddh International Circuit. A chance to drive the new Honda Jazz on a F1 Race course was like a dream come true. Let me just tell you the event crossed all our expectations by leaps and bounds. Here is the our experience of being part of the #JazzatBIC event by Honda Cars India.
On 4th July 2015 we checked into Radisson Blu Hotel. After we finished registering we went for lunch and met a whole bunch of bloggers who had been called from all over India to cover this amazing event. We met so many interesting people who blog about all kinds of things from Technology, Fashion, Cars, Lifestyle, etc. After Lunch we proceeded towards the Buddh International Circuit.
The 5.14-Km long Buddh International Circuit has been designed by World-renowned German architect and racetrack designer, Herman Tilke, who has also designed other world-class race circuits in Malaysia, Bahrain, China, Turkey, Indonesia, the UAE, South Africa, South Korea and the US. Buddh International Circuit has been designed as one of the fastest, most exciting motor racing circuits in the World and we couldn’t wait to burn some rubber on this track.
After getting a glimpse of the track all the bloggers were taken for a special presentation where for the first time the New Honda Jazz promo was shown. After a brief introduction by Mr. Katsushi Inoue the CEO & President of Honda India, we were given an in-depth presentation of all the new & cool features of the New Honda Jazz.
Now before we get into the actual test drive let me tell you a little about this Fabulous Car.
The New Honda Jazz is the 3rd Generation Jazz and looks simply stunning. It is one of the most stylish premium hatchback I have seen in the market as of date. The New Jazz looks sportier and sleeker than the old model, thanks to Honda’s ‘Exciting H Design’ philosophy. Featuring the global Civic-like head lamps, sleek grille and new bumper with large air-vents, the new-gen Honda Jazz’s front fascia looks completely new. The rear profile, too, looks sportier than before with new tail-lamps and new bumpers. The new Honda Jazz is 3.95 meters with a wheelbase of 2.95 meters making it significantly more spacious than the older model. We sat in the front and the back of the car and even with the front seat completely extended there was ample amount of leg room. The Honda Jazz gets a touch screen infotainment system unit with SatNav along all-black interiors of the top-end variant of the hatch.
The unique fuel tank layout of the All New Honda Jazz ensures more space and headroom for the passengers as well as the luggage. This allowed them to do something new with the seats and thus Honda has created space modes. This allows the seats to completely shift to allow for maximum storage facility in the car.
The new Honda Jazz will come with two engine options – 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel and the 1.2-litre i-VTEC petrol. The Diesel engine comes with a 6 Speed manual transmission gearbox while the Petrol Engine comes with the five-speed manual and a CVT gearbox for automatic.

Onto the Test Drive
After the presentation we were taken to the Control Room where the Track Instructor gave us information about the track, the rules we must abide by and what to do in case of an emergency. After all this is a F1 Race circuit and could be dangerous if we aren’t careful. Everyone who got in the car was made to wear a helmet even if you weren’t in the driver’s seat.
While we waited for a chance to test drive they had organized some interesting things to do for us bloggers. From a pool table which you had to play like football, darts and a selfie board. They also had a quiz where you could win prizes by answering questions related to the New Honda Jazz.
We decided to test drive the automatic Jazz. I must say the car had a very smooth pickup and very accurate handling. Since the track has many straight sections we got to speed up to 110 km/hr and got to see how well the car handles at high speeds. Through all the twists and turns the car handled very well. The Inclusion of Paddle Shifts made it more interesting. We have driven other hatchbacks like the i20, swift, amaze, etc and the new Honda Jazz is by far the best in all aspects.
Now unfortunately due to the rules We couldn’t record our own test drive but we got into the back seat after our turn and recorded a section of the Test drive for all you guys to share in the experience of driving the New Jazz on a Formula One Race Track.
Before the night ended we were treated to an awesome buffet dinner and performance by “Rivaaaz” a local band before we headed back to the Hotel and called it a day.
We had a blast driving the new Honda Jazz on the F1 Circuit. Meeting so many interesting bloggers and having an experience of a lifetime. Thank you Honda for giving us this wonderful opportunity.
Pre-Booking for the new Jazz is already going on and the Car will be launching on 8th July 2015. So what are you waiting for ? go book yours now. Trust us you won’t regret it.
