An Uncommon Delight – Fish Kofta
When you hear the word uncommon, it makes you feel something special is coming up. Be it in any field or pertaining to any particular thing. So when I used to hear a lot about people whipping up special delicacies that are unheard of or “uncommon”, I always wanted to make my own dish that stands a class apart, is quick to make and I can proudly say that this is my uncommon food recipe. So after a lot of thinking and discussing with my loved ones, we decided to make Fish Kofta that are uncommon, tasty and total seafood treat. So I am quickly listing down the recipe below for all you wonderful people who have been so supportive of my latest cooking sessions. All you need is a little time to spare and Wallah… you can whip up some unique dishes for yourself and for your loved ones.
Fish Kofta Ingredients :
½ kg boneless fish boiled in salt
¼ kg mashed potatoes

¾ tbl spoon chopped mint leaves
2 chopped green onions
1 chopped onion
2-3 chopped green chillies
½ cup bread crumbs
1 teaspoon chaat masala
1teaspoon corn flour
salt and pepper to taste
Mix all the above ingredients and make them into small balls. Post this, fry the balls till they turn semi brownish. Once done, keep them aside till we make the gravy.
Fish Kofta Ingredients required for the gravy :
Use the same oil in which the kofta balls were fried
Mix 4 tbl spoon curry leaves
½ teaspoon jeera
3 grinded tomatoes
2 cups coconut milk
1 tbl spoon red chilli powder
1 tbl spoon ginger-garlic paste
½ teaspoon crushed black pepper
½ teaspoon turmeric powder
1 teaspoon coriander-jeera powder
1 teaspoon garam masala
1 tbl spoon lemon juice
For garnish – coriander leaves and fried cashew nuts
Put oil in a pan and mix curry leaves, jeera, ginger-garlic paste, chilli powder, turmeric powder, coriander-jeera powder, black pepper powder, garam masala powder. Let it mix and heat for 5 minutes. Saute the masala and add tomato paste to it. Let the mixture boil for 2 minutes. Post this, you can add coconut milk to it.
While serving the fish kofta, add the hot gravy on top of it and then garnish it with coriander leaves and fried cashews.A small tip – I used tuna fish, because I am a big fan, but you guys can select any fish of your choice.
