Hello all my fellow chai lovers!! By now most of you guys know how much I dig teas and how my search for a perfect tea for different moods and occasions never ends. My recent trip to Darjeeling got me a bit closer to the authentic tea making process and I got to see the entire process so closely all thanks to Singtom Tea Estate. Here’s the link to my Darjeeling trip article incase you missed out on it.
So you can imagine my excitement when I heard about Tea Trails opening their 11th outlet in Mumbai at Vile Parle East. Apart from having such wide varieties of hand picked teas from across India, Tea Trails Vile Parle is a quaint place to visit, be it alone with a book or along with your gang of friends. I love the extra tall ceiling and the contrasting white and blue interiors.
The ceiling to floor length glass windows on either sides allow ample amount of sunlight to kiss your teacups. It is one bright and lively place. The outdoor seating area is divided into two parts – a private party area and a common cafe seating area. We shot a look in the private area outside and I can’t wait to post that blog soon. Here’s the link to the first look, which we shot at this café.
Coming to the amazing and intriguing breakfast to snacks options along with some freshly brewed teas of so many kinds that refresh your soul. I tried two kinds of teas at the newly launched “Tea Trails”, Vile Parle East – the Japanese tea and the Darjeeling First Flush tea. I tried the Darjeeling First Flush for the first time on my recent trip to Darjeeling and this tea tasted exactly the same and it indeed transported me amidst the tea gardens of Darjeeling.
I loved the combination of Bun Maska, potato wedges and garlic bread with my green tea. If you love some home made taste with a twist in your chai menu then this is your place to be at for a happy evening.
The highlight of my meal other than the Darjeeling First Flush was the “Pasta Alfredo” which was cooked to perfection with slightly less sauce just the way I prefer and the “Teazza Margharita” Pizza.
The Teazza Margharita is a thin crust pizza with 3 kinds of melted cheese and the special ingredient is the “mixture of various tea leaves” that replaces our usual toppings of chilly flakes and oregano condiments. The tea leaves mixture doesn’t smell like the typical tea flavour and yet it leaves you with a completely fresh and a different after taste post every bite of the Teazza Margharita. Do not forget to order the kulhad ki chai with this if you love kadak chai.
Great varieties of teas, awesome vibes and unforgettable conversations are what you can expect at the newly launched Tea Trails in Vile Parle East. On chatting up with the owner of this outlet Nikhil, he told us how this café is actually a labor of love for both him and his wife. Tea Trails at Vile Parle East is a unique Tea fest for all you chai lovers in Mumbai. Plan your next get-together here and I’ll be happy to hear your views.
