Other than being both Salman’s and my favourite place in Goa, Park Hyatt Goa Resort and Spa holds a special place in our hearts for million reasons. The top reason has to be Casa Sarita, their authentic signature Goan restaurant made us fall in love with the freshly made Goan Fishy Delights with every single meal. On our last visit for the Cashew Trail 2016 at Park Hyatt Goa Resort and Spa, they decided to make it super special for us by giving us Casa Sarita all for ourselves and one of their best ever smiling Chef’s Tanuja Kerkar. You will love her food and fish preparations as much as you love her vibes. You will become an instant fan when you get to know her real story and the real Tanuja Kerkar.
She made all my favourite dishes right from Goan Fish Curry to Masala Squids, Rawa Fried Fish to Prawns Peri Peri, she fed us so much fish that I was sorted for that entire year. It brings back so many beautiful memories to have Chef Tanuja Kerkar in my own city and hometown Mumbai as she is all geared up to make some authentic Goan recipes at none other than Fifty Five East at Grand Hyatt Mumbai all the way up to 28th Feb 2017. Trust me, you don’t want to miss out on her Signature Goan Recipes that are made with nothing but love.
Chef Tanuja Kerkar Preparing our meal at Casa Sarita <3
During our Casa Sarita Goan delight dinner date at Park Hyatt Goa Resort and Spa, I literally had to force her to join me for a quick chit chat considering that she is so shy and an introvert. It is then that she opened up and discussed with me about her life journey and how she finally ended up with her dream job as a Chef at Park Hyatt Goa Resort and Spa. She had started out as a helper at a small restaurant in the by lanes of Goa and soon her passion and interest in cooking took over as she spent her free time asking the Chef lot of questions, observing and learning from him. It is there that she learnt a lot about authentic Goan preparations. After years of struggle, taking care of her family, long hours of travel to and fro from work, the never give up attitude and her quest to ignite her passion, led her to the doors of Park Hyatt Goa Resort and Spa through a friend who then informed her about the vacancy.
Here is What we had at Casa Sarita!!
She is hands down my favourite Chef not only in Goa, not only when it comes to fish preparations but as a gentle, giving and nurturing the soul. I left my heart with her when I left Goa.
