I’ve been visiting The High Street Phoenix a lot lately, right from meetings to shopping sessions and everything in between, that has somehow turned to be my second home. I had heard about wok This Way from a very dear friend and just when I was getting down right opposite Palladium, I spotted this hidden little gem few steps behind (Like not exactly bang opp but it will be on your left side if your traveling from Bandra). I like to be very specific with my directions Yo! The bright orange door right then and there before you step inside welcomes you with such vibrancy I like such happy vibes!!!
The long chair set-up right across the wall just when you step in, gives you your space if your dining alone and then there are these well lit-up dangly bulbs set-up for the chirpy groups to a quaint lunching session with your loved ones or even for grabbing a quick bite with your colleagues. This is one warm welcoming place set amidst the heart of lower Parel, within a crossing distance from High Street Phoenix.
My lunch date consisted of grabbing a quick healthy yet delicious lip smacking Chinese food in the vicinity and then head over to my meetings. Below are the dishes I ordered and they arrived in 4-5 minutes flat (Yes, be there to see if for yourself).
Well lets WOK this Way
Tofu and pepper steak in Hunan and Teriyaki sauce with soba noodles, oyster mushrooms, dill, baby corn and broccoli, where you get to select the healthy toppings and the sauces.
Red rice in Akai and XO sauce with corn, basil, oyster mushroom and purple cabbage. I must admit, I have had ‘red rice’ for the first time ever and this is the healthiest rice option you can ever find! Also, the freshly made tofu, just melts away in your mouth and its actually an experience to eat this dish..
Malaysian Laksa– This is a Malaysian soup noodles dish, with sausages made up of cottage cheese and soya as you can see in the pic as well. They are tossed with nutrella soya chunks and the egg was made up of cottage cheese and the yolk was a sauce made up of yellow bell peppers. All of this effort was to bring out the authenticity of this dish and trust me, me as a non-vegetarian was actually not bothered about the pure veg food since this tasted better than chicken too 😀
Kimchijeon (Which also is their super special Dish of the Month for Oct) – Kimchi is a Korean dish and kimchijeon is a mixed vegetable pancake with the kimchi salad (appetizer). This dish is an epitome of perfect blend of spices, tossed in just the right amount of home made sauces which make this one a chartbuster on my list of favourite dishes from their menu. Doesn’t it look invitingly yummy???
I would rate them a definite 5* Star for their super quick services, freshly made whole wheat noodles and authentic sauces which are also freshly made everyday, a bio-degradable packaging, wok boxes that open up as round plates specially for us Indians and to top it all up – This is a JAIN friendly restaurant and I have never before tasted Jain food which was this scrumptiously finger licking. I am dying to go back next month just to get a taste of their special dish of the month.
And to go with such nutritional and healthy yet tasty Wok This Way food, they have the best in town and purely made drinks options from ‘Just Divine’. The beetroot one is my personal favourite They do not serve soft drinks or any other unhealthy drinks options (My mum is a BIG supporter just for this). Wok This Way steals your heart by excelling at the miniscule details such as making soft to hold bowls and spoons with “supari”, free home delivery from Churchgate to Worli and giving you healthiest eating options which is made within less than 5 minutes (which is quicker than the fast food options and priced at such unbelievably low costs).
For those of you drooling over my minimalistic jewellery for this laid back lunch look, these have been hand crafted by one of my latest favourite brand – Grace Accessories. The pearl drop down earrings and the pearl-gold chain hand gear adds just the right amount of sassiness and uplifts my entire look 🙂
Did I mention, there is a dedicated wall of photos at Wok This Way which highlights the work of any budding artist/photographer for an entire 45 days period. You wanna showcase your photography at Wok This Way?? Email them right away!
This was my most favourite corner where I am seen sitting, behind which lies a wall full of different Mangas (Japanese Comics Books) for all the fans of Dragon Ball, Naruto and One Piece!!!
