THEY WERE ALL YELLOW

They were all Yellow !!

I have had a secret crush on the colour yellow since I was selected as the yellow house captain, during my school days. Not to forget the very famous song “Yellow” from one of my favourite band – Coldplay. Just like the band, I totally agree with the attributes this colour represents – Brightness, hope and devotion! Just as randomly as the lead vocalist of the band, Chris Martin named the song “Yellow”, upon spotting the yellow phone directory in his vicinity, I too happen to don this colour unknowingly as I decided to get the most brightest beauty out of my wardrobe. It is now when I get to jot it down, these things come to my head running all at the same time, and makes me ponder about the yellow connections and more! Hehehe…

What best to combine the season’s most relaxed colour with the most comfy wear – yellow TUNIC. The fact that tunics had their roots right to the Romans and Greeks makes it even more historic, doesn’t it. This is one wardrobe staple must haves for all you ladies. You can decide to either stick to the historic knee length tunics or level it just below your hips or mid-thigh level. I decided to pair my cottony lemon yellow tunic with an off-white pair of leggings to add to the summer cool quotient. The white thread work also stands out over the base coloured tunic. You girls can either opt for leggings, jeggings or tights depending on the length of your tunic. Remember to not go for tights, if the tunic is shorter.

Hear, Hear! – Tunics are indeed very versatile piece of clothing and can be worn with a number of bottoms to achieve a variety of looks. Always remember to keep in mind when you plan on wearing the tunic and consider the weather before accessorizing your outfit. A single tunic can take you from a casual day shopping, to a day at the office, to a dinner out with friends depending on how you choose the bottom wear to go with the tunic. Don’t you forget to play around with your style to discover a style of dressing a tunic that looks right on you.

My love for flats this season keeps on growing and keeping me wanting for more. Heels are so passé, unless it’s a party that you need that stance when you walk into the room. Accessorizing the right way on any tunic is very important. Hence my choice was to team it up with 2 printed Kada Bangles to give it an Indian touch. For my hair, simple blow dry look with slight curls at the strands work just fine for the causal look. Bouncy hair is back in vogue!! Like I always say, make comfort your best friend and fashion shall follow suit.
