My love for dressing up and helping others with styling / shopping goes all the way to my school days when all I could think about is how can I better the designs made by the masters at my mums boutique. I guess this creative streak runs in my blood thanks to my designer mom who excelled at both managing her home and work with as much ease. But the fact that I learned from her and then evolved to stumble upon my own voice, my own style and my personal likes and preferences when it comes to FASHION. There are few brands that understands these exact different needs and choices when it comes to styling ourselves and it gives me so much pleasure to extend yet another successful collaboration with Shaadi Sakhi’s Festive Souk Pre-Navratri Edition 2016 this time around. You can be guaranteed of two things when it comes to Shaadi Sakhi Exhibitions – Fashion & Style! All the latest trendsetters are a part of their events.
So going with the Pre-Navratri theme, I decided to opt for a look that looks vintage, yet fits into my celebratory mood. This golden-netted lehenga with a deep purple cape top from “Pink Polka By Himani Doshi” is an ideal pick for your festivals or cocktails functions. Plus I love the dedication this brand puts into the designing of each and every outfit to make it special. Right from the intricate work to their elaborate silhouettes, colour combinations and fabrics, they custom make as per the occasions and the trends. No wonder they are going strong even now after celebrating 7 glorious years in this business. The purple cape is my favourite as it can be styled in so many different ways as per your choice. Just let your creativity flow wild. The embroidery on the cape was such that it allowed fluid movements and added a lot of flair to the overall look. I cannot wait to see what they have in store at the exhibition, which is on 21st & 22nd September 2016.
Taking the tassels trend ahead with these gorgeous handcrafted earrings; colourful stones necklace and shimmer stone kada from Gunjan Cowlagi Design Studio. Gunjan Cowlagi is an artist who loves to bring forth a beautiful blend of colours and textures that speak through her creations. Their jewellery consists of semi-precious stones with high metal alloy finish for the added shine and shimmer. Ideal for those festive and Navratri looks. They ensure that all the beads and stones they use are all natural. If you need custom made designs in gold or silver, they are just a call away. Their jewellery took my festive look into a dreamy vibe which I totally love.
To complete my Festive Souk Pre-Navratri Look, I added in golden wedges heels by Kara Footwear n More. The designer duo Dhara Ganatra and Hemali Thakkar together create magic through their footwear, clutches and potli bags Bridal collection. They want to make sure that they have a little something for every woman on every occasion or festival. Both “Kara” and Gunjan Cowlagi Design Studio will be participating in Shaadi Sakhi’s Festive Souk Pre-Navratri Edition on 21st & 22nd September at Napoo AC Hall, Matunga.
The Beautiful location where we shot this look is none other than Asado Bar & Lounge at Bandra (W).
