Lakme Fashion Week Summer Resort 2017 went from grand to grander and super glamorous with their latest showcasing at the swankiest new venue at Jio Gardens, Mumbai.
Out of all the amazing designs presented, what stood out for me personally was the “Artisans Of Kutch” showcasing presented by IMG Reliance that covered grand sustainable Indian fashion.
Shrujan, Somaiya Kala Vidya, Chaman Siju and Sufiyan with Madan Hall carved a place in everyone’s heart remembering Day 2 of Lakme Fashion Week for days to come.
Unconventional motifs, traditional weaves, block printing with natural organic processes mixed with the traditional crafts of Kutch, these designers won everyone over with their creations. This tribute to the art of crafts of Kutch was so surreal to witness live at the Lakme Fashion Week. Check out some of their designs from that day.
As for my personal style for the sustainable fashion for Day 2 it was all about going ethnic with BIBA with a twist. The floral printed cotton body with a golden zipper added a modern Indian vibe just what I was going for. The navy blue flared kurta can be teamed up with ripped jeans or with the palazzo trousers that comes with this set. I decided to stick to the blue checked mid-rise palazzo trousers as it adds some gorgeous hues of cool blues. The sheer panel on the front slit kurta and the mandarin sleeves makes this outfit an ideal one for those brunches, parties or even date nights. I am so happy with how this look turned out for Day 2 of Lakme Fashion Week 2017.
Plus, with Indian boho looks, you get to play around with the combinations way more to suit your personal style in the best way possible. The accessorizing can be quirky and upbeat with geometrical shapes and golden ear cuffs to go with this BIBA look. I always get my funky accessories from Boga Accessories.
This kurta – palazzo set combo by BIBA Captures the essence of the modern Indian woman in the most perfect way. I teamed it up with a light lavender colored satchel bag by Lavie, which was a pastel touch to this ethnic look. I like the contrasting colors when it comes to accessorizing and I always trust my instincts as opposed to following the set norms. There are no rules when it comes to fashion and when you style yourself the way you want to considering the comfort and personal style, the outcome has to be a class apart.
My Lakme Fashion Week Day 2 Look was everything I wanted it to be – comfy, desi, fluid and sassy!!!! Stay tuned for more style stories from LFW 2017.
