The Cold Shoulder Trend For Fall Winter 2016

Normally with winters around we like to keep our layering game strong, but for us Mumbaikars, light winters means we can play with the latest Fall Winter 2016 trends. With such an easygoing weather, the cold shoulder trend falls right in place which helps you reveal without showing too much skin. There is definitely something so mysterious about this trend for Fall Winter 2016. I had heard it somewhere, which is true if you think over it, “Women’s shoulders are the only part that doesn’t reveal their age at all. It actually doesn’t age.” Do you remember seeing freckles or wrinkles or fine lines on shoulders? Never right! That is exactly how stunning the cold shoulder look is.

I picked up this “Finola” cold shoulder cut top from Besiva and I liked how classic and retro it made me look. The angel sleeves add to the minimalistic look and you can keep it simple yet stylish by adding one or two bold accessories. I opted for this black choker necklace which went so well with the entire retro look. Another reason why the cold shoulder trend should be taken so seriously this fall winter 2016 is because of its forgiving nature. Imagine if you loose a few kilos or bloat up after a heavy meal, it DOESN’T ever show on your shoulders. While, it will immediately show on the rest of your body. I think this trend treats every woman equally and finding the perfect cold shoulder cut top should be on every girl’s list this December. I am so in love with this trend that I am actually considering picking my NYE dress too with the shoulder tease! 😉

The shoulder baring trends will definitely make its way into 2017 as well by morphing its forms into one off-shoulder, back cut-outs, off-the-shoulder, shoulder slits and many more looks. Moving from tops to dresses, playsuits, tunics, etc. the cold shoulder trends can be played with different textures, silhouettes and patterns. For the classic retro look, I added a green skirt with my cold shoulder top with a final touch of my money pouch by Lavie, which has become my latest obsession.

We shot this look at Renaissance Powai and we love the way their property has something different to offer for all our look shoots right from their restaurants to their outdoors. A day well spent with my favourite chai’s and werk werk werk!!!!!
