Firstly let me just begin by saying a big thank you to Costa Cruises and the Consulate General of Italy in Mumbai for having us over and for making us a part of something so extraordinarily special. We all know about the largest and No. 1 Cruising Company of the world – Costa Cruises which is an Italian Cruising Company. One glance at their humongous ships and you know you are stepping into the lap of much deserved luxury. We entered the Mumbai International Cruise Terminal at Ballard Estate through the green gate and after passing through 4-5 security check points (hats off to the high security level) we entered Costa Luminosa Cruise.
It reminded me a lot about titanic movie. 😉 This cruise is all geared up to sail around the world for 98 days and currently Mumbai dock is its home. The main occasion for the evening was the launch of “Festa Italiana 2016” and also celebrating the upcoming homecoming of the Costa NeoClassica in Mumbai from December onwards.
Starting from 16th December all the way to 18th March Costa NeoClassica will embark on its weekly sailings that will cover so many interesting destinations like Mum – Colombo and my favourite – Mum – Maldives. With this initiative by Costa Cruises, one can expect some of the biggest holiday experiences that start before you hit your actual destinations. Mumbai dock will surely see some enthusiastic faces lined up for cruise holiday experiences. Indians have seen a major shift lately with trying out different modes and means when it comes to holidaying in style and trust me when I say this, Costa Cruises are the finest 7-star luxury cruises in the world. Costa NeoClassica is going to be the largest cruise ship to cruise between Mumbai – Maldives. It comes with their own outdoor jogging track, 2 Jacuzzis and 2 swimming pools. You name it and they have covered it all on this luxury cruise right from ballroom, grand bar, casino, theatre, disco, gym, sauna and steam rooms, personal spa cabins and shopping too. The library is also fully equipped with all genres of book for everyone to get immersed in a good read. This luxury cruise is almost like travelling with your own metro city along with you.
Speaking about the launch, Mr. Buhdy Bok, President of Costa Group Asia said, “We are delighted to bring cruising to Indians at their doorstep. For many travellers, the holiday often starts after some sort of a long journey. Now like never before, Indians will have the opportunity to start holidaying — right from their door-step — from India’s largest metropolis, Mumbai”
We had a great time being a part of these celebrations and not to forget the grand Italian meal, which we indulged in post the event on Costa Luminosa. We spent the rest of our evening visiting the Cruise and exploring the different floors. My favourite of them all was the “Turkish Sauna Room” and a bedroom sauna that makes you sit right in your comfortable space with a sea view on your side. On your visit to Costa NeoClassica make sure to order Neapolitan pizza at Pizzeria “Pummid’oro”: thanks to an agreement with the Università delle Scienze Gastronomiche di Pollenzo, Costa Cruises offers pizza prepared using only sourdough and selected ingredients such as San Marzano DOP tomato. You will also get a wide variety of Indian cuisines too.
Hope you guys enjoy the Costa Cruise experience as much as we did visiting them. HAPPY CRUISING!! <3
