Unapologetically Italian Saturday Brunch

Grand Hyatt Mumbai has taken the Italian feast to a whole new level altogether with their Unapologetically Italian menus and I actually looked forward to their grand Unapologetically Italian Saturday brunch at Celini Restaurant.

With the Head Chef Alessandro looking over the special Italian Saturday brunch it was only obvious what the grand feast would behold. He summed up the “Unapologetically Italian Saturday Brunch” so well – “Italian food is cooked with passion and eaten with pleasure”. Straight from his kitchen fresh onto our plates mixed with traditional authentic recipes from Italy.

Unapologetically Italian Saturday Brunch - Chilled Orange Basil Spritz

I started my meal with Lobster Bisque, which was tangy, smooth and one of my favourite soups from the French origin. It went so well with the chilled Orange Basil Spritz – Perfect start to a perfect Italian brunch.

Welcome to Unapologetically Italian Saturday Brunch Fish Heaven. Right from perfectly baked Salmon Amaretto to Basa Egg Lemon to Shrimp Catalana (Catalan refers to the language, culture or people from a region in North East Spain) and my favourite Cuttlefish Pepperonata, which belongs to the family of squid and octopuses.

Unapologetically Italian Saturday Brunch - Chicken Olive Pizza

We made our own pizza and ordered a thin crust one with toppings of barbeque chicken, jalapeno, onion, baby corn and bell peppers.

Unapologetically Italian Saturday Brunch - Pasta

The chef also freshly made a whole-wheat chicken and mushroom pasta with red sauce for me, as that’s my favourite from Celini at Grand Hyatt Mumbai.

The last dish that I tried was Chicken Risotto, which is one dish that rules right from kitchens in our homes to the finest restaurants. The history of this dish is tied to the history of rice in Italy. Italy has the perfect climate to grow shorter grained rice easily.

I’ll leave you all with my favourite desserts from Unapologetically Italian Saturday Brunch at Celini, Grand Hyatt Mumbai.

TIRAMISU, SICILIA CANOLI, CAPRESE TORTA & CASSATA were some of my favourite.
