Tulsi Silks is a brand that understands our Indian culture like no one else and they indeed are a treasure trove of sarees. They have spent over two decades creating handcrafted Kanjivaram sarees that depict the art and skillset of our hardworking craftsmen. Tulsi Silks is known to create elegant and exceptional designs that are woven from pure raw silk. Their sarees weave magic and embody tales of our culture and ancient history, which reflects in their collections. I value art more then anything else in this world and their sarees are a culmination of art and fashion. So when I first came to know about Tulsi Silks showcasing at Lakme Fashion Week 2016 Winter Festive I was super thrilled as I wanted to see the best cultural mix from South India being presented on the platform of India’s most loved runway.
Presenting Tulsi Silks Collection at Lakme Fashion Week 2016 Winter Festive
Tulsi Silks Fashion Show was slotted for the last day of Lakme Fashion Week 2016 and they had a very welcoming and a traditional set up of garlands, gajras, flowers decorated in brass bowls. The Chennai based brand Tulsi Silks for the first time ever presented a peek into their finest creations for the whole wide world that depicted their undying love for our roots and the heritage. Their sarees and celebratory separates were divided into hues of pink, bright yellows, black and white, black and silver, reds and greens. What I liked the most about their collection was the wear ability factor, which allowed one to don those sarees from your special occasions to festivals and celebrations. The motifs and the handcrafted patterns weaved tales of our most ancient culture and highlight the stunning grace of Indian sarees.
The extremely talented and gorgeous Dia Mirza was the showstopper for Tulsi Silks at Lakme Fashion Week 2016 and when she sizzled the ramp all I could think of is, “An Indian princess is walking in her kingdom.” Her aura and charm is such that she can carry any outfit with so much grace and elegance. Especially the black Kanjivaram saree with silver handcrafted motifs made her look like a true Indian Goddess. Post the show Dia Mirza took to twitter to profess her love for Tulsi Silks sarees. She tweeted saying – “A saree breathes eternity. Embodying human stories of the hands that craft them.” She summed it up so well as each and every person who attended the show of Lakme Fashion Week 2016 had the same feelings.
