Affinity Salon is known to one and all as one of the most leading salons chains in Delhi and I have always wished for it to be here in Mumbai too. This is officially the wishes getting granted month and guess what, they finally did arrive in Mumbai in style and opened one of the most head turner Affinity Salon outlet on Ambedkar Road in Khar West, Mumbai. I like this Salon for many reasons but what tops my list is the location since it practically is just 10 minutes away from my place and secondly some of the best, experienced and senior stylists are a part of their team. This time around, Affinity Salon has teamed up with Wella Professionals to bring revolutionary hair care and hair styling to everyone.
On a personal note, I am a big Wella fan and right from my shampoos to conditioners and even the hair colour, which I opted for in the past, are all Wella products. I must admit that I do experiment with my hair a lot but the key here is to find the few products that suit your hair type really well and then stick by them for a very long time. Unless you want to try something out real bad. So for this visit to Affinity Salon I decided to opt for a hair cut and then post that go for some styling. I promise to review a hair colouring session with Affinity Salon soon for you all using Wella colours. The reason I didn’t opt for colour this time around, was simply because I wanted to give a gap of 4 months atleast between my hair colouring sessions (Best not to OD on the colouring spree :P).
I met up with the ever smiling and Affinity Salons head stylist – Shefali, who saw the texture of my hair, the previous cut, etc and after a quick discussion of what I preferred, we narrowed down our options. Shefali suggested that we should definitely add some layers below my bangs, since that will give my face a distinctive definition. Since I didn’t want to lose my length and that is what actually keeps my frizzy hair weighed down (a tip for all my fellow frizzy hair people :D), Shefali suggested that we just cut out an inch and a half to get the split ends out and then let the length be just like I preferred. That way, it was a big win-win. I got to keep my length as I wanted and the layers from the sides of my face, added so much glam quotient to my look overall. What do ya’ll think?? I like quick decisions and even better when your stylist understands your hair needs from the very beginning!
After a hair wash, she did a soft blow dry and since I told her how I had slight wavy hair when I was small, we decided to go back and revisit my childhood days. Slight soft curls at the end, mixed with some waves is what we went for and that added such a fresh feel to my overall look. This is how Monsoons blues need to be kicked!!! I must mention few insights here for all you lovelies shared by Shefali.
- Always use a pre-heating protective spray on your hair before styling or blow drying.
- Use a serum on wet hair to protect your hair against the frizziness. (Luxe Oil by Wella is my current favourite one)
- Use a mild spray to hold your styling post everything is done.
Since I am a big Wella Professionals fan girl, I opt for all of Wella products and you too can choose based on your exact hair type to further protect your hair. I hope you guys love my final look that Shefali created. It is safe to say that I am in LOUVVV!!
As I was about to leave, Team Affinity Salon added a fresh mint blue shimmery nail paint that matched my statement neck piece. Total adorbs !!!
