The first time I remember having a say when it comes to liking a particular dish more was when I was 3. I mean considering the fact that I was a kid who wouldn’t complain or make a fuss about what to eat and what not to. But I had my own individual choices of making some dishes better by adding a dash of cheese slice or doing something extraordinary by mixing some sweet and spicy palette. My mum really thought I would grow up to be a chef or do something related to food. So when my blogging world started having my own “Foodie’s Corner” that brought to you my take on some of my favourite food and food joints or restaurants, my mum was the happiest. After all, there is no bigger accomplishment than doing something you love!!
Having said that, the foodie in me isn’t the usual oh I prefer spicy or oh I donot prefer spicy. It is in fact a daredevil, a risk taker, visiting the unknown paths and creating my very own daring recipes on the go. I can create some very unusual, wackiest yet tastiest recipes out of almost nothing. You don’t need many ingredients to create the right dish that stands out, instead you need to be able to have an open mind to try mixing up some non-traditional ingredients that will lead you to your very own signature dish. Everyone likes good food, and when it comes to trying out something out of your comfort zone, which you have never tried before, let’s admit we all wanna be the one to try it if not create it.
Since we are discussing never tried before wackiest food recipes, I have a confession to make right here. During a short family vacay to Lonavala, where we were staying in a rented bungalow, I decided to make my own DIY Sweet dish. So I always used to mix some cheese and bournvita, add some chocolate sauce to it and heat it up. Turns out just before I mixed cheese to my chocolate sauce and Bournvita combination, my lil cousin had dropped chilli paste in it. When I tasted it while mixing, I realized what an interesting mishap had happened. Since the dish tasted very sweet and spicy, yet tasty, I decided to take it a step further and added some pomegranate seeds and burnt garlic to it and Wallah….. 🙂 I had my own little craziest, never tried before food recipe right there!!! Plus, everyone else lapped it up so I am not complaining.
I decided to name the recipe Cheesed Chocolate Chilly & here’s how you prepare it :
Grated cheese – 1 small bowl
Bournvita powder – half a bowl
Chocolate Sauce – 4 tbl Spoons
Mix all of the above with a spoon and heat it up in a microwave for about 3 mins.
Now add in the mixture, 3 teaspoons of red chilli paste
Pomegranate seeds – 5 tbl spoons
Burnt Garlic – 10
After mixing all the ingredients, this can be served just as is or with some salty biscuits for the dip. This is my personal invention and I am so proud of it.
