Those of you who have read about my cooking session post with Chef Parth from Grand Hyatt special Bengali Cuisine fest, already know that this Maha Bangla Bhoj is on right upto 24th Feb and here is why you should drop there asap with your loved ones if you haven’t already.
Bengali Cuisine at its best – This has to be by far the best Bengali Cuisine I have ever tasted with Chef Parth looking over the dishes personally. He has been flown down from Kolkata to whip up these delicacies.
Authentic Ambiance – The Soma restaurant at Grand Hyatt Mumbai has been transformed and redecorated in the colour themes of red and white to give you a very authentic vibe.
Starters to die for – The heavenly and tasty starters like Narkeler Bora (Golden fried coconut patties) and Murgir Pathisapa (Chicken mince wrap) cannot be missed. This will make you a fan of the Bengali cuisine instantaneously.
King Size Maha Bangla Bhoj Main course
The main course will definitely blow your mind away with an excellent spread of authentic Bengali dishes like :
Betki Paturi (whole grain mustard marinated Betki Fish filet steak steamed in banana leaf) was one of my favorites of the evening.
Aluposto is again a hot favourite with me personally since it has poppy seed gravy and goes so well with loochi (Traditional bread).
Chenar Daalna was again a must have for you cottage cheese lovers, since the dumplings in the gravy make it a lip-smacking dish teamed up with ghee bhaat (rice with ghee). We also had the mosur daal which is actually the red lentil tempered with onion and garlic. Perfect Bengali Cuisine!
The Kasha Mangsho was some of the best Lamb I have ever had. It was cooked to perfection and it is one of their Traditional lamb shank preparation in a mustard oil, garam masala gravy.
Maha Bangla Bhoj Desserts :
- Manolova Nalen Gurer Malpua – If you’re a malpua fan then you definitely are going to dig this one as these malpuas are dipped into date jaggery syrup.
- Rossogolla – Just hold these soft balls of poached cottage cheese dumplings, squeeze out the sugar syrup a little bit and pop these at once in your mouth for some serious food coma.
- The Bengali kheer was specially brought for me on a special request. This is indeed a must try.
Fun Filled Evening – With Maha Bangla Bhoj on your plate, beautiful company of friends and family and the ever smiling and helpful staff, make for an unforgettable evening indeed.
Bengali Paan – For all you paan lovers like me, this will take you right on the streets of Kolkata.
Right from the ambience, staff dressed in traditional Bengali wear, the earthenware utensils, red and white theme of the restaurant, etc. every small detailing of the Maha Bangla Bhoj at Soma Grand Hyatt has been designed for an unforgettable experience for you. Make sure to drop there before 25th Feb 2016 to experience some authentic Bengali Food.
