Lakme Fashion Week Day 1 - My Pick

26^th august 2015 :Here’s a glimpse into the eventful day 1 of Lakme Fashion Week day 1 of all the latest happenings.

Edgy silhouettes were always a hot favourite of the season and the first day of this festive wear saw variety of these designs along with grand ethnic wear with shades of gold, neutral and all subdued colours which kinda breaks the usual fashion choice and gives a fresh perspective. Right from Huemn, Ilk, Quirk Box, Kristy De Cunha, Nikhil Thampi, Payal Singhal, Krishna Mehta and Soumitra Mondal offered a vast feast for the onlookers eyes.

Closing the day with an array of dapper& velvet, clean-cut suits, Manish Malhotra launched his first ever line of menswear. RanbirKapoor sets so many hearts ablaze as the show stopper looking hotter than ever.

• Manish Malhotra

Set in a gentleman’s club, Manish Malhotra’s first ever menswear line saw sharply tailoured suits in dark colours, velvet play and dapper sherwanis with embroidered shoulders. This year the maestro celebrates his 25 years with a magnificent show full of drama and grandeur.

• Quirk Box

A huge spectrum of colours on easy separates made an impact on the Quirk Box runway.

• Huemn

Animal prints, sequins and leather play take Huemn’s quirk appeal to a whole new level.

• Ilk

Ilk brings comfy winter style with checks, crop shirts and effortless drapes.

• Krishna Mehta &Soumitra

Krishna Mehta & Soumitra captured hearts with awe-inspiring bridal collection.

• Nikhil Thampi

Nikhil Thampi mesmerized the audience with his beautiful collection.

• Payal Singhal

Zardozi, mukaish, pita kora and leather appliqué, along with geometric designs were spotted at Payal Singhal’s ethnic showcase captivated the audience entirely.

The head turner Celebs at the Lakme Fashion week day 1 :

1) RanbirKapoor

Actor Ranbir Kapoor turned showstopper for the designer, whose creation was a mix of modern style blended with the traditional sherwani, bandhgala and ethnic jacket. Manish Malhotra created magic with his new collection on stage. Ranbir Kapoor looked royal dressed in the gentlemans club line.

2) Lauren Gottlieb

Dancer-actress Lauren Gottlieb, who has shown her dancing prowess in the “ABCD” franchise walked as the showstopper for the brand Baggit at the ongoing Lakme Fashion Week day 1 winter-festive 2015, showed some moves while taking a walk on the runway.

Baggit showcased the second edition of “Play the Life Game” campaign through the show that celebrated the different roles and moods women have in their lives.

The campaign highlighted the special autumn/winter 2015 collection of bags to complement the multi-faceted woman.
