EASY TO FOLLOW TIPS TO TAME YOUR OILY SKIN
Well, with the temperatures soaring by the day, other than the million problems we face, one of the top most reason to bring a freckle on our face, is the issue of oily skin or even worse an existing oily face breaking into pimples & blackheads. I am going to bring to you ladies a list of my home remedies (Passed on from my grand mum & mum; few of them invented by me after trying and testing out ways more than one). They will not only prove helpful to control that oiliness of your skin but it will also inculcate a healthy and conscious habit of treating your skin more appropriately and giving it the care it needs.
Here is the list to swear by to control the excess oil on your skin :
1. Do not wash your face more than twice in a day –
Many of us make this mistake of just randomly splashing water on our faces, or washing our face using a face wash several times a day. Well, that is the first step towards going wrong completely. Sebum is your skins natural protector against damages and excess face washing can either cause sebum to deplete or cause an excessive growth, either of which is bad for you. Stick to washing your face religiously once in the morning and once at the end of the day.
2. The tomato ritual twice a week –
This is my grand mums beauty secret, as most of the times oily skin is indeed genetically passed onto us, one of them being me too. Twice a week, till those oil glands reduce excessively producing oil one must keep following this simple regime. Tomatoes are great for oily skin due to its properties of cooling and clearing. The natural oil-absorbing acids in tomatoes also help get rid of excess oil. Rub a cut tomato on the skin till the juice soaks the skin. Rinse after 15 minutes with cold water.
3. Say a big NO to caffeinated / carbonated drinks –
Yes, this might be the most difficult of the lot but what the heck, there won’t be any results without going that extra mile. Caffeinated drinks must be consumed as limited as possible since they heat up the system and cause the production of excess oil. Carbonated drinks on the other hand are high in sugar content and are said to form pimples on oily skin. Keep the intake of these two things in check and see the wonders for yourself.
4. Moisturize Your Skin –
Yes, regardless of what you have been told by so many people or what you have heard before, even oily skin needs moisturizing. It is a sheer myth that oily skin need not be hydrated, as most of them misunderstand oil for moisture. Once a day, use a light-weight moisturizer which is specially made for oily skin, so that without further residue of oil, your skin is hydrated with just the right amount needed.
5. The MultaaniMitti Way –
Mix multaanimitti with half a teaspoon of lemon juice. Let the paste dry on your face and then wash it off. Do it atleast once a week to see clear results. This natural earthy skin remedy is known to control that excess oil and the astringent properties in lemon will take care of the pimple break-out too.
6. Increase Your Fluid Intake –
The skin develops pimples due to the clogged pores, which are covered with dirt and grime. If the blood circulation is increased then the detoxification process shows its results on one’s face. It is beneficial to drink lots of water to flush out the toxins from our system. Fluid such as fresh fruit juices and others help to keep the skin hydrated and cool.
7. Go give those veggies and fresh fruits a chance –
It is of utmost importance for you to consume fresh fruits and veggies of all sorts, especially those high in vitamin C nutrition. Having a balanced diet has a very important role to play in that glowing healthy looking skin of yours. So start including these veggies in your diet and instead of fried fatty food, consume small platter of fruits.
8. Don’t Miss Out On Your Beauty Sleep –
Increase of stress leads to build-up of clogged pores and excess oil formation on your skin. Just like your body, your skin too needs its share of proper rest and sleep for it to look rejuvenating and for you to keep all those pimples at bay. Make sure to catch up on that well deserving minimum 8 hour of sleep every night!
